Empowering the Haitian Immigrant Community: Savesouls Inc’s Transformative Impact in Massachusetts
Savesouls is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving the Caribbean community. The organization provides a variety of services, including educational programs, mental health support, and an international mental health directory. Savesouls also works to advocate for the rights of Haitian immigrants and to promote their integration into American society with the Self Vision and Community workshop.
In a recent workshop, Savesouls partnered with Mount Olive Community Center and the Department of Public Health to serve approximately 130 Haitian immigrants in the Massachusetts area. The workshop covered a variety of topics, including US integration, mental health literacy, and life mapping. Participants also received valuable resources to help them navigate their lives in the United States.
The Savesouls workshop was a 4 days event that was held at La Distinction Academy Massachusetts, coordinated by Patricia Desire the President of Savesouls and Taëlle Chery, our Resources Coordinator.
It was open to all Haitian immigrants, regardless of their immigration status.
It covered a variety of topics, including:
- US integration: This session covered the basics of US immigration law, as well as information on how to access social services and other resources.
- Mental health literacy: This session provided participants with information on common mental health conditions and how to seek help.
- Life mapping: This session helped participants to identify their goals and develop a plan to achieve them.
In addition to the educational sessions, participants also had the opportunity to network with other Haitian immigrants and to receive valuable resources from Savesouls and its partners.
The Importance of Savesouls Work

Savesouls play an important role in helping Haitian immigrants to overcome these challenges and to integrate into American society. The organization’s workshops provide participants with the information and resources they need to succeed in the United States.
Additionally, Savesouls advocacy work helps to promote the rights of Haitian immigrants and to ensure that they have access to the services and support they need.
