Where SaveSouls came from
SaveSouls Inc. has been a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) since November 2021.
November 2021The problem that motivated the work
The work that became Mental Health Relief started after earthquake disasters in Haiti. People were looking for care, including after they had moved. Language and cost kept many of them from staying with it.
After the earthquakesThe communities it exists to serve
The public work centers on Afro-Caribbean communities, with particular attention to Haitian survivors and immigrants.
How the organization has evolved
The public work now includes a facilitated workshop, therapy support, and staffing help for shelters serving Haitian immigrants.
Therapy sponsorship helps selected applicants with the cost of the first sessions. The Church Ambassador Program trains people to bring mental health presentations into churches.
The provider directory that began with SaveSouls is now CaribTherapy, and it lives on its own site.

About Us
Who We Are
SaveSouls Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing mental health awareness and access to care within Afro-Caribbean and immigrant communities. Through culturally responsive education, advocacy, and community support, we reduce stigma and help families thrive.
To advance mental health awareness and expand access to culturally responsive care for Afro-Caribbean communities through education, advocacy, and community-based support.
A world where Afro-Caribbean people can access mental health care that honors their culture, language, and lived experiences, and receive the support they need to thrive.
We serve Afro-Caribbean people from young adulthood through older adulthood across the Caribbean and the diaspora, including immigrants in the United States. We also provide cultural education and training for mental health professionals, faith and community leaders, and community-based workers of all backgrounds who serve Haitian and other Afro-Caribbean communities.
